Day 20: 24th May 09

Harry Potter Land...

Oh my god! Please don't tell me it's our trip is ending. Noo.....

Alan smiled and said, "Do you want to have some tea?"

He was kind enough to drive us to Oxford. The outskirts of London and have a taste of a more laid back atmosphere. So what do we expect from Oxford?

Oxford University of course!
In fact, the entire Oxford appears to revolve around the university itself. Spanning out to 38 campuses. The most distinct of all is Christ Church campus. Alan was excited to show this campus where Harry Potter was filmed. Take a look to see if you recognize the part in Harry Potter featuring Christ Church.

The cloudless sky was a sight to behold. The sky was completely blue and not a single cloud to be seen. It's a rarity back at home.

To be honest, I am not a big Harry Potter fan. However, I still watch some of them (probably because of the hype). If you are still pondering, the above places were in the dining scene in Harry Potter and the garden above is where Harry Potter flew around.

Oxford is so beautiful and whimsical. It's a perfect place to study provided if you meet all the etc. etc. requirements and qualification. I got a bit jealous. While we have to pay to look at the campus, the students can freely access everywhere. Even walking in Christ Church, we were restricted to only a certain area and are forbidden to walk in the garden above unless, you are a student. A bunch of students were laughing and were having a fresh oyster feast. What a life!

It was hot and sunny outside. In contrast, the interior of Christ Church is cooling. The wall and stair railings were cool to touch.

We went inside the Christ Church's church. I cant read the Latin words but it seems to me that the area surrounding the church were full of memorials. There were writing on the floor and I think some important people of Oxford were buried underneath.

What time is it? Probably a preliminary test to check if you are qualified to study in Oxford.

This giant owl weights 8kg. It's motionless and continue to stare at you with its mean eyes. At first, I thought it was not real until the owl starts to blink.

This queer little sight was seen in Oxford Castle ground.

Around Oxford town...

Don't forget to check out the Oxford Gargoyles in these buildings.

Unlike those typical Gargoyle that looked like half bird/bat and half human, these Gargoyles were made up of various forms.

As it is in the outskirts of London, Oxford is a good place to shop as well. This will be our very last and very final shopping.

We cant believe that we have been to so many places in 3 weeks. After months of intense planning and so many road blocks (we almost wanted to give up back packing), it is all worth it!

Excuse my self appreciation moment but we are so proud of ourselves!!!

The entire trip went smoothly. We were on schedule, on budget and visited if not more places than we have planned. I am telling you, save up and go visit Europe in your lifetime. You will thank me for that and don't forget to get me presents! LOL~!
