Love Bread @ Hua Hin

 7th Feb 2020

While driving to our next hotel, my eyes were scanning the streets for food. We were hungry but there weren't many restaurants around Cha'am district. There were empty lands, hotels and scattered buildings. Most of them looked vacant. Then, I saw a beautiful sign "Love Bread" and drove past it. I am not a big fan of bread but we were really hungry and doubt we can find anything better if we kept driving. So, we made a U turn for it. I went down to check if the place is even open and it was!

It felt like we found an oasis in the middle of the desert. The place was cool, clean and has a very inviting array of pastries. It looked like a newly established cafe with modern and minimalist design. About four of the tables were occupied. One table was occupied by a group of office employees working on an assignment. There was a comfortable nook at the back of the restaurant and as the elderly tourist couple leaves that table, we quickly grabbed it.

We were presented with their menu and I was so pleased that they serve more than just bread.

I was even more pleased to see the variety of dishes offered. From Thai to western food. Did I mention before that this felt like an oasis?

The food ordered.

The rice set looked so much like what we saw in the menu, if not better. I mean how many times did the food came and looked flat compared to the one shown in the menu?

I didn't know how to eat most of these veges. I have never seen some of them before. Like those rounded things, sprigs of some kind of leaves and what looked like a green chilli but it was not. I only knew ladies finger (okra), long beans, carrot and cucumber. I tried biting on those rounded veges and they were so bitter... Hobbes sent a picture of this dish to his Thai friend staying in Penang and she really missed this dish. Overall, it was a healthy and tasty dish.

See the rice set with fish on the second row in the menu. Doesn't it look similar to the actual food? Even the plate is the same. LOL!

Fish rice set - 120
Iced strawberry tea - 65
Chicken pie & puff - 55 & 28

Good price for quality food under a nice dining environment.

Halfway through, a family came in with a young son. A cute mixed kid of Thai mom & Caucasian dad. M was so happy running about with him and suddenly the cafe's little kid came out to play too on his tiny bicycle. The place was filled with their happy laughter. We bought some sugared pretzels for snacks. As we leave, the little boy insisted to come out with his mother to wave goodbye to his new-one-time-friend, M.

For now, I know where to go if we are out of things to eat in Cha'am area. After all, it wasn't far from Eya Pool Villa where we are heading next.
